Anglicans in Malawi have been asked to unite and contribute passionately to church projects regardless of localities where the activities are taking place. Manase Anglican Parish Priest Father David Mponda made the plea on Sunday in Mpemba Blantyre during a donation of cement bags pooled together by seven parishes from the Anglican Diocese of Southern Malawi. The cement will go towards construction of a 400-capacity Anglican Church at Mpemba Trading Centre which is presently at foundation level. “We are witnessing one Anglican as we gather for the purpose of building God’s House. I urge you to also contemplate what we will offer to God in building His House,” said Mponda. Chairperson of  the Anglican way of the cross organising committee Paul Kanthambi said the money used to buy the 13 bags of cement was offering collections on Good Friday and donations from some committee members. He advised members of the Mpemba Church Council and those responsible in running the affairs of the project to be transparent and accountable so that people do not lose trust in them. Mpemba fundraising committee chairperson Msakwiza Mwale thanked the organising committee for appreciating their need.
